What Can A Dirty Air Filter Do To My HVAC System?

Your air filter is primarily responsible for cleaning the air your HVAC system sucks in like dirt, dust and other particles. Depending on how frequently you use your air conditioner, the  filter should be replaced every one to three months. (Depending on size.....) Replacing your air filter is important for more than just keeping your indoor air clean, but if you go too long without replacing it this could cause damage to your system and even shorten its life.

  1. When it comes to BTU ratings, gas furnaces will always have higher ratings because they can handle larger homes more efficiently. Electric heat is sometimes better suited for smaller houses with multiple levels.
